On behalf of the whole EXO fandom (including sasaengs), we truly are sorry. Not just to Baekhyun and his brother and bride, but to all 12 members and those affected by the irrational decisions and actions of select few “fans”.
I don’t think any of us really knew how bad sasaeng activity was for them. Tao’s weibo update opened the eyes for many of us. The fact that one of the most soft spoken members lost his temper means that this really is ridiculous and out of hand.
We’re all embarrassed that our fandom has a bad reputation. We all feel sorry for the boys and their loved ones.
So here’s what you can do:
1. Pictures of EXO not from events are sasaeng photos. For instance, pictures of them in the streets, or stores. So do not repost anywhere or spread these pictures. Maybe if sasaengs see a decrease of response to their actions, they will stop even a little.
2. Always show love and support to our OT12. Some may think that trending hashtags and popular posts will go unnoticed since the members don’t have twitter, tumblr, etc. But remember it has been revealed multiple times that members monitor and search themselves on the Internet frequently, if not every day. If anything is trending for them, you could always send a link to Tao or Kris’s weibo. If they get multiple messages of the same link, the chances that they will check it out increase.
3. Though this may be hard, do not bash sasaengs. This creates unnecessary drama within a fandom. I understand you may be angry, trust me, I’m furious too. But bashing them could in fact motivate them even more. Clearly, no matter how much hate they get, they will continue. So please try your best to ignore them. Our boys wouldn’t want any fans to get hurt, sasaeng or not.
We don’t want to take away the beautiful smiles we’ve all fallen in love with.
So please, continue loving and supporting EXO. We can minimize sasaeng reaction/activity.
